'...our home on the Island of Skye.'
Mo Dhachaidh is the Gaelic for
"My Home". It is the family home of Andrew and Greta Sheedy, formely Greta Macpherson Macleod, and a true native of Skye.
Mo Dhachaidh
guest house is set in private grounds with unsurpassed sea and mountain views of the Isle of Skye.
It is perfectley located overlooking the picturesque village of Kyleakin (The gateway village to Skye) and is ideally situated for touring both the island and the the breathtaking scenery of Kintail and Wester Ross on the mainland.
The views from
Mo Dhachaidh are compelling, with spectacular views overlooking the Five Sisters mountain range with Beinn na Caillich and Sgurr na Coinnich at the forefront.
Fortunately, the Gulfstream tempers our climate bringing changing weather light, and drama throughout the seasons. An endless topic of comment, the weather's variety will never disappoint. The locals say, "if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes".
We are a 4 Star Guest House (Scottish Tourist Board Graded) and easily approached from the mainland over the Skye Bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh. We are open from mid March through to October.
There are also two mainland ferry connections: from Mallaig to Armadale and from Glenelg to Kylerhea
